The Introduction to Coffee course is ideal for those new to specialty coffee. It traces the journey of coffee from its origins in Ethiopia to being the important commodity it is today. This course provides an overview of the entire specialty coffee supply chain.

Ideal for those new to the world of specialty coffees. Traces the journey of coffee from its origins in Ethiopia to what it is today. This course provides an overview of the specialty coffee supply chain and explores topics such as history and cultivation, variables affecting coffee quality, fundamentals of sensory analysis, fundamentals of roasting, coffee freshness factors, and preparation principles. In addition, learners will discuss the importance of water quality, cleaning and maintenance. This interactive course also includes a tasting, an industry-specific process to evaluate coffee through a sensory experience. There is an online written exam administered upon completion of the course.
